| Charbel Abou Charaf joined the firm in 2007, and has passed his Beirut Bar entry exam in 2007.
Charbel’s practice focuses primarily on banking and finance (both conventional and Shari’a compliant), corporate and tax law in Lebanon and Qatar.
Charbel has worked on sophisticated and complex transactions in various legal fields, spanning from banking and finance, corporate and real estate to franchises, hospitality and telecommunications.
Charbel graduated from St. Joseph University, Beirut with a French and Lebanese Bachelor of Law and obtained afterwards from St. Joseph University a Master of Laws in Banking and Capital Markets Law (Thesis on structuring and legal considerations regarding sukuk issuances). He also holds an Islamic Finance Qualification granted jointly by the École Supérieure des Affaires and the UK Investment and Securities Institute.
Charbel has co-authored various publications on insurance, corporate and financial law in Lebanon and Qatar.
Charbel has taught economics and leadership courses to final year Qatari secondary school students while volunteering with Injaz Al Arab (a division of US NGO Junior Achievement)
Charbel is a member (Associate - ASI) of the UK Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Charbel is fluent in Arabic, French and English, and is also conversant in German. |
